How to choose a mud flap? A guide to size, thickness and print
A mud flap catches the mud, water and stones thrown up by the rear wheels of a vehicle and, at the same time, carries your company name on the road. Four things are enough to make the right choice: size, thickness, print type and accessories.
1. Size
Measure the width of the bumper or mudguard area where the flap will be fitted, then decide the height you want. Under-bumper models are usually wide and low, while behind-the-wheel models are narrower and taller. If you are unsure, write your vehicle model to us; we confirm the size with you before production.
2. Thickness
A thin mud flap is light and flexible; a thick one is better suited to heavy use and harsh road conditions. See our thickness guide for details.
3. Print type
Digital, solvent or screen printing is used for the company name and logo. We explained which one suits you in our print comparison.
4. Accessories
An aluminium strip fitted to the bottom edge helps the flap hang straight; a hinge set is used to fix it to the bumper; reflective tape increases visibility at night.
